Our Rotator Tow Truck has a 50-ton Miller 1150 rotator on a 2019 Peterbilt 389 truck with a 600 hp Cummins and 18-speed transmission.

We also just received another truck, a Vulcan V-100 heavy-duty wrecker integrated with the SP 850-XP recovery unit, which includes a hydraulic pivoting stiff-leg to handle tough side-pull recoveries.

Also known as the “drag winch,” it provides side-pulling capabilities in tough recovery situations.

• Specialized recovery: A “side pull” is a specialized towing technique that pulls a vehicle from an angle, often from a ditch or embankment.
• Reduced traffic impact: Using a side puller can reduce the need to block multiple lanes of traffic, which is a significant advantage in congested areas.
• Increased versatility: The 3rd winch and the SP 850-XP’s pivoting stiff-leg are designed to provide extra stability and leverage for these types of side-pull operations.
